Manufacture of Lattice Towers

Aster’s Choutuppal plant located near Hyderabad,  has a production capacity of 52,200 MT per annum for the manufacturing of Lattice Type Transmission Towers, Telecom Towers, Broadcast Towers, Wind Mill Towers, Special Structures used for Power Plants and Process Plants.

Considering that the quality of the products from any manufacturing facility depends on the  infrastructure, Aster‘s manufacturing facilities at the Choutuppal plant are organized in very well planned and well engineered layouts. Lattice Tower manufacturing facility is equipped with very efficient and automated production equipment with sophisticated Computerized Numeric Control Machines (CNC) to ensure accurate and consistent products.

Choutuppal Manufacturing Facility (Plant)

The Plant is located approx 45 km from Hyderabad along National Highway 9. It is spread over an area of 36 acres i.e., 1,45,687 sq. m.

    • BSNL and Telecom Operators for Telecom Towers
    • PDO of Oman for all Lattice Structures
    • Power Grid and all State Electricity Boards for manufacture of Power Transmission Towers
    • BHEL and Thermax for all Special non pressure structures for their Power Plant Projects
Fabrication Process
  • Prime tower parts are manufactured on CNC Machines and other components are manufactured on conventional machines.
  • Special Jigs and Fixtures for Hydraulic Presses to ensure the bent items are precise and built without distortion
  • Various material handling equipments like the EOT Cranes and Mobile cranes are utilized for handling steel and tower parts
Galvanization Process

Choutuppal Manufacturing Facility has two Galvanizing Plants with the state of the art galvanization technology and automatically controlled Zinc Bath. Out of these plants, one with Zinc holding capacity of 13 m x 2.5 m x 2.5 m is one of the largest in Asia. The controlled treatment of the galvanizing process includes degreasing, pickling and fluxing for an ideal reaction between Steel and Zinc resulting in a homogeneous galvanization. The pre-heating chamber further ensures uniform drying and pre-heating of steel to give an excellent surface finish and uniform coating of zinc.

The Galvanizing Plant has a galvanization capacity of 108,000 MT per annum and is equipped with sophisticated in-house laboratory for chemical testing facilities. This facility is shared by both Towers and Poles divisions.
